Today we share a new key milestone in our history: we secured a new investment round co-led by Kaszek and Insight Partners, with participation from Index Ventures, Adams Street Partners, S32, Endeavor Catalyst, monashees, and TQ Ventures. Since our founding in 2021, we have raised US$160 million, reflecting strong global investor confidence in our payment infrastructure model!
This new round marks the beginning of a new phase of growth, aimed at redefining the industry in Latin America and expanding our offering towards global products and new payment methods. In the words of Gastón Irigoyen, our CEO & Co-Founder:
This round establishes Pomelo as a leading financial technology infrastructure platform for Latin America. Raising over US$160 million in a few years reflects the strong conviction of top global investors in a modern payment tech stack, designed to serve banks, large companies, and high-growth fintechs at a regional scale. Today we operate across the continent, process billions of dollars in payment volume, and achieve world-class customer retention and satisfaction metrics, clear indicators that Pomelo is becoming a critical component for our clients and marks a structural shift from incumbent infrastructure.
How does our value proposition evolve following this new round?
In this new stage, the goal is to continue deepening our capabilities and accelerate the development of new products and payment rails that will shape the future of the region's financial ecosystem. The capital will be allocated to:
strengthen our issuing and credit card solutions;
expand our offering of globally-reaching products, including a native global card in stablecoins, payment tokenization, and chargeback management powered by artificial intelligence;
develop new business units related to modern payment methods.
“Pomelo is redefining payment infrastructure in Latin America. The founders’ vision, the solidity of their technology, the quality of execution, and strong traction with major players in the financial system were key for us to decide to co-lead this round and double down on our bet for their growth,” emphasized Nicolás Szekasy, Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Kaszek.
What does this new investment round represent for the financial ecosystem?
This new round we received reflects a growing trend among global investors to prioritize fintech companies with high impact and the ability to scale in different markets and complex regulatory environments.

In the words of Robin Murray, Partner of Adams Street Partners: “Pomelo is building a modern financial infrastructure platform designed for the scale and complexity of Latin America. This is our first growth equity investment in the region, and Pomelo's solid execution and consistent growth clearly set the company apart. We are excited to support the team’s long-term vision as Pomelo scales and expands beyond cards into new payment methods and global products.”
For his part, Deven Parekh, Managing Director of Insight Partners, stated: “We are excited to continue supporting Pomelo and to double our bet as the company continues to accelerate its growth. Gastón and his team have built a world-class business, and we see a great opportunity to meet a clear need across Latin America as financial services continue to modernize at an accelerated pace.”
We continue to lead the way in innovation in the region's financial infrastructure!
